Here's how to take a screenshot on a Dell computer, using various methods:
Print Screen Key (PrtScn): This is the most basic way. Pressing the PrtScn
key (usually located in the upper-right area of your keyboard) copies the entire screen to your clipboard. You then need to paste it into an image editor like Paint (search for "Paint" in the Windows search bar) or another program to save it.
Windows Key + Print Screen: This takes a screenshot of your entire screen and automatically saves it as a PNG file in the "Screenshots" folder inside your "Pictures" folder. You'll see a brief dimming of the screen when the screenshot is taken.
Alt + Print Screen: This captures only the active window (the window you're currently working in). It copies the screenshot to the clipboard, so you'll still need to paste it into an image editor to save it.
Windows Key + Shift + S: This opens the Snipping Tool (or Snip & Sketch in newer versions of Windows). The screen will dim, and you can then select a specific area to capture (rectangular snip, free-form snip, window snip, or full-screen snip). The screenshot is copied to your clipboard. Snip & Sketch will also give you a notification to allow you to edit the screenshot.
Snipping Tool/Snip & Sketch: This is a built-in Windows application designed for taking screenshots. You can search for "Snipping Tool" or "Snip & Sketch" in the Windows search bar to open it. It offers various capture modes and editing tools.
